As a Christian, a veterinarian, and a scientist I was very disappointed to hear a very one-sided view of darwinian evolution on this podcast. Mathematics, physics, biology, and subsequently evolution are in my eyes the study and understanding of how God does things. In learning about them I feel that we are all blessed to get a minuscule glimpse of God. Evolution and God can go hand in hand. A wonderful book should be read, Finding Darwin’s God, to further evaluate this.
The argument that there is not enough time for speciation to occur is unfounded mathematically. It would be nice to see this podcast interview actual scientists and mathematicians who can explain the other-side of this argument. Science just makes my faith so much stronger and fills me with such awe at the awesomeness of God. When I read the book of Genesis I read it with the understanding of evolution. Surprisingly, but not perfectly, the timeline fits with much of what we know about the formation of the earth and life on it.
Here is one good place to start about evolution and mathematical time.
